Queensland’s largest commercial grower and supplier of strawberries, raspberries and blackberries throughout Australia.
Our vision is to produce exquisite berries for the Australian community in an innovative and ethically sustainable manner. We strive for continuous improvement; incorporating progressive agricultural practices with integrity whilst ensuring a safe, stimulating work environment.
Established in 2003, Queensland Berries is Australia's largest privately owned and operated commercial strawberry, raspberry and blackberry enterprise. We supply berries through Driscolls Australia all year round. Our berries can be found in Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and Costco.
Queensland Berries has enjoyed continued expansion and growth over the past 18 years. The first crop consisted of a mere 150,000 strawberry plants that have now expanded to over 5 million plants. This represents the equivalent of approximately 15,000,000 strawberry punnets annually from our two growing sites.
In 2008, Queensland Berries introduced the first commercial production of rubus varieties in Queensland. The growing of raspberries soon diversified into the production of blackberries.
Our organisation is comprised of a diverse mix of nationalities, many of whom have been working with us for many years. In addition to our management division, we have a team of supervisors and group leaders who manage up to 500 highly motivated, multinational staff who grow, pick and pack the fruit. We offer employment 12 months of the year.
Compliance is paramount to our company. Queensland Berries is a Fair Farms approved employer. Our staff have peace of mind that they are working for an Ethical Employer that is recognised and audited by an internationally recognised body.
Our three berry categories are a ‘ready to eat’ product, so food safety and compliance are essential to our business. Food safety certification provides a framework to ensure our company adheres to best practices within our organisation. It also offers our consumers assurance and peace of mind that the fruit they are eating is safe to consume.
Producing a safe, quality product requires consistent management and training of our staff and external suppliers. Food safety compliance provides buyer satisfaction that their product is compliant and within regulations with current Australian health practices.
Queensland Berries is continually striving to improve its work practices and standards.
